Christina, from Waterloo:
When you are in a relationship there are a lot of “firsts”. First date, first kiss, first time saying those three magic words ….
For me, the most important is “first time eating ribs together”. If you still love a person after they have picked meat out from their teeth and look up at you with BBQ sauce on their nose, you know it’s true love.
For my fiancé and I, this happened at Ribfest! And this year, I can’t wait to rekindle that same moment while sharing our mutual love for tender juicy fall off the bone ribs!
Marianne from Kitchener:
My first time at Ribfest (4 yrs ago), I had the BEST RIBS EVER! The food was absolutely the best I've ever had and the people that were running the bbq were very polite.I met some great people who we all talked with and became fast friends with and to this day we all head to rib fest together to enjoy all the wonderful ribs chicken and all the other foods that are offered.
Ashley, from Kitchener:
I moved from KW to Toronto in the fall of 2010. I knew no one in the city and was hoping that by summer, I'd have some new buddies and living in this tiny town wouldn't suck so bad. I decided to give it a year, and then I'd look for work in Toronto again.
Being walking distance from everything in the Kitchener downtown core, I stumbled upon KW Ribfest the weekend one of my best friends came to visit. That day was the day I decided that Kitchener (and Waterloo) were a lot cooler and more fun than I had given the town credit for. I also set my best friend up with a guy I worked with, and she just moved here from TO as well, and she and that guy have bought a house in town. It sounds cheesy, but that day was the start of a summer that changed a lot of lives. It was also the first time I had ever eaten ribs, as I was a vegetarian for 20 years prior.
Turns out, all good things start with copious amounts of pig meat!
Taylor, from Kitchener:
The first time I ever went to ribfest, my dad took me and it was the first time for me trying ribs, so he bought me every single company's ribs to try them all. Since then, I have gone every year, and now I want to take my daughter and fiance to try ribs for their first time, and make it our new tradition.
See you at Ribfest!
